Short version: readings remain in private app storage. The developer cannot see them. Data leaves the app only when you deliberately export or share it.

Purpose

Sistola is an offline personal blood pressure journal. It records values manually entered from a separate blood pressure monitor. The app does not measure blood pressure or provide a diagnosis.

Data processed on the device

Sistola can process information that you choose to enter:

  • systolic and diastolic blood pressure and optional pulse;
  • measurement date, time, context, medication notes and free-form notes;
  • optional profile name, bio, manually entered contacts and target range;
  • reminder times, selected language and app preferences.

This information is stored in private app storage on the device.

Collection, sharing and tracking

Sistola does not transmit app data to the developer. It has no remote account, cloud sync, advertising, analytics or tracking SDK. The app does not request internet access.

Data leaves Sistola only when you deliberately share a reading, create or share a PDF report, export CSV, create a JSON backup, or select a file to import. You choose the destination through Android. The selected provider or receiving app then governs that copy.

Permissions

Notification permission is used only for optional local reminders. Android boot, time, timezone and app-update events are used only to reschedule reminders. Sistola does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, body sensor, Health Connect or external-storage permissions.

Backup and security

Automatic Android cloud backup is disabled. On Android 12 and later, Android can copy app data directly to a new phone during device setup, without any cloud service. Private app data is protected by the Android application sandbox and device security. PDF, CSV and JSON exports are user-controlled files. CSV and JSON exports are not encrypted by Sistola and should be kept private.

Retention and deletion

Data remains until you delete records, clear app storage, or uninstall Sistola. Exported copies must be deleted from their destination by you. Because the developer does not receive app data, the developer cannot retrieve or delete information stored only on your device.

Medical information

Sistola does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. It does not replace professional medical advice or emergency services.
